Save a little bit of time with some (or all!) of the simple computer hacks listed below and gain more time this year to continue taking your business to the next level.
7 Useful Computer Tips, Tricks, and Hacks:
- Re-open the internet browser tab you just (accidentally) closed. Hold down Shift + CTRL + T on most PC browsers, or For Mac use Shift + Command + T and like magic, Poof! Your tab will reappear.
- Open a link in a new tab with one click. By simply clicking the link with the middle button (scroll wheel) of your mouse you can open your link in a new tab. You can also hold Shift while you click the link to accomplish the same thing. You can use the middle button of your mouse to click an already-open tab and it will close it.
- Zoom in and out on your browser. Use “Ctrl” plus “+” to zoom in and “Ctrl” plus “-” to zoom out. To reset your screen use Ctrl + 0 and it will reset to the normal view. (use “command” instead of “Ctrl” on Mac). You can also hold Ctrl and scroll the wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out.
- Undo almost any action. Made a mistake? Use Ctrl + Z to fix a mistake. To redo an action type Ctrl + Y.
- Paste text as plain unformatted text. Don’t want to copy the formatting from the original source? use Ctrl + Shift + V instead of the basic Ctrl + V.
- Move your current window to a particular side of your screen (PC ONLY). If you click the “Windows” key, plus one of the arrows (right, left, up, down), your current window will move to that side of the screen. You can also split-screen by dragging any open window to the very far edge of the screen. You’re able to split up to 4 windows per screen if you drag windows to the corners instead of the sides. Voila!
- Minimize ALL open windows at once. If you have several windows open and you want it to all go away without having to press the minimize button on each window, press Windows key + D, and it will all go away in a single snap. (This may be useful for when the boss walks in, but you didn’t hear it from us!)
